According to the United States Constitution, being an American comes with the right for the “pursuit of happiness”. Most Americans take that serious as we seek to live in comfort and do everything we can do to be pain free. But what happens when we suffer for believing in Jesus? Should we give up that right for the sake of Jesus? As we continue in Acts 5, we see the examples of the early apostles how to suffer well in difficult times.

It’s difficult in our current culture for any group of people to stay “together”. Sadly, it is also difficult for the people of God to stay unified.

However, Acts gives us a picture of unity and Godly generosity! When we are generous, it encourages love, trust, and devotion to one another. Pastor Devin leads us through Acts 4 and 5 as we use the early church’s example as a guide for us today.

What is the purpose of the church meeting together? Sometimes we feel that church can just be a social club, or a place where I go to get my needs met. Some feel that the church should only be about meeting the physical needs of the community? What really is the purpose of the church?
